About Water Your Blooms

No matter the days, if they are bright or grey, never forget to Water Your Blooms so one day they can grow on you.

Everywhere I go I carry an A5 notebook and a permanent marker. Little sketches are born here and there but I never give it too much thought. Black lines, white paper, simple.

This little drawing was a reminder of a side table of mine. A very ugly one that I tried to paint and revamp. And like many other projects, this table remained unfinished.
Which makes me think that maybe this table was not meant to be painted on but it was meant to be the muse for my next drawing…
Or maybe I’m just giving you an excuse for my unfinished projects…

One day I was stuck and I reached for my old drawings. In that same notebook I carry everywhere. And this particular one was meant to aspire to something else.

The original sketch was very simple, the table was the center of the piece. When I re-worked this painting I added two elements: the mirror, or window, and the rug.

The mirror, or the window, is for reflection and introspection.
Is it a portal to look inwards or one that leads outwards? Is it bringing natural light from the external world to allow the flowers to grow or is it a reminder for you to water them when necessary?

The rug has these circular shapes, leading to the darkest colour in the middle, like a hole. Maybe another passage, into a place of curiosity and into your subconscious. Maybe an unresolved gap - like this unfinished table.
